Well records by state

Find your well record in Kentucky

When your well was drilled, the driller filed a report: how deep the borehole goes, the casing diameter, and where the water sat. That record is the difference between guessing at your well and knowing it.

We search Kentucky well records live.

Enter your address below and we query the state's own database for the well nearest your house, then confirm every number with you before it is used for anything.

What the Kentucky database returns

Three numbers size a well treatment, and each state's database carries a different subset of them. Here is what Kentucky's returns, verified against the live service:

  • Total depth
  • Casing diameter — not in the database; you confirm or enter it in our flow
  • Static water level

Driller filing became mandatory in Kentucky in 1985, so records for older wells are often sparse or missing numbers.

What the record tells you

Three numbers matter for treating a well. Total depth and static water level give the standing water column, and the casing diameter converts that column to gallons: 0.0408 × diameter² gallons per vertical foot. From gallons, a disinfectant dose stops being a guess. Our kit uses those numbers to count the pre-measured pouches for your well, and every constant in the math is on the sources page.

Records are a starting point, not gospel: older wells may predate filing requirements, and scanned records can be missing fields. Our flow always shows you the record it found and lets you correct it before anything is sized. If you cannot find a record at all, the typical depths guide explains how to estimate honestly.

Two quick answers cover the search itself: how to find your well's drilling record and how deep your well is when the record is missing.

Quick answers for Kentucky well owners

How deep is my well in Kentucky?
The total depth is on your well's drilling record, filed by the driller when the well was built. We search Kentucky records live from your address. If no record exists, the well type sets the range: driven sand points run about 25 to 75 feet and common drilled wells 150 to 350 feet, per our typical-depths guide.
Where do I find Kentucky well logs?
A well log, well report and well record are the same document. The official Kentucky source: Kentucky Geological Survey water well search. Search by address, parcel or owner name, and note the total depth, casing diameter and static water level.
How do I find the well on my property?
Look for a capped steel or plastic pipe standing in the yard, a small well house, or a pit cover, usually near the house. The drilling record often gives a distance from the house or a sketch. Our guide to treating a well shows what each kind of well head looks like.
