Bluestone Chemical, doing business as Save My Well, runs this site. This page says what we collect and why.
What we collect
- The address you type to find your well record. A map service suggests matches, and state well databases return your record.
- Your email, when you ask us to email your plan or to hear about the test kit.
- Order details when you buy. Stripe handles payment, so we never see your full card number.
- Your approximate location, which our host reads from your IP address. We use it only to show wells near you before you type an address.
- The founding-trial claim form: your name, shipping address, phone, email, and quiz answers. It is emailed to us and written to our server logs so an order is never lost.
- Partner applications: your name, company, and email. They are emailed to us and written to our server logs.
- What you type to the site assistant. We send your chat text to Anthropic, which writes the reply.
- Your email and IP address, written to our server logs when you ask for your plan by email, join the test-kit list, or apply as a partner.
- How you move through the site, through PostHog product analytics. PostHog records sessions so we can see where a page confuses people. Session replay masks everything you type and hides the addresses the lookup shows on the page.
- Your email, when you sign up for the well test reminder emails. We add it to our list only after you tap Confirm in the email we send, and we take it off when you tap Unsubscribe. Resend keeps the list for us.
- What you write on the feedback form.
- Help requests, when you ask us to find a local well service partner: your name, phone, email if you give it, ZIP code, the problem you picked, your note if you write one, how soon you need help, and your yes to sharing. See the next section.
- If you ask us to email a well record: your email, state, your answers, and your note if you write one.
- Inspection bookings: your name, email, phone and address. Kept 90 days.
- Free homebuyer report requests: your name, email, the address and the closing date. Kept 90 days.
- Records requests: your email and the address. We file the request with the state agency that holds well records. Kept 90 days.
- Farm quotes (your name, email, phone, farm name, well details and note), pump coverage requests (your name, email, state, pump details and note), and checkout feedback (your score and comment). Kept 400 days.
These companies process that data for us: Vercel hosts the site and keeps its logs, Anthropic runs the assistant, Stripe takes orders, Resend sends email, Upstash stores help requests (directly or through Vercel), and PostHog runs analytics.
Help requests and well service partners
When you ask for help on the get help page, you tick a box to say yes first. That box is the only form that counts as your yes. Any other request (an inspection booking, a report, an emailed record) goes to a pro only after you reply to our email and ask for one. With your yes, we share your name, phone, email, ZIP code, problem, and note with up to 3 local well professionals who serve your area, so they can call or email you. The pros may pay Save My Well for the introduction.
If you only look up a well record, or email it to yourself, we do not share your details with a pro unless you reply asking for one.
For licensed well businesses, we keep the contact details from public state license lists so we can offer them requests. A well professional can ask us to remove theirs on the feedback page.
The box says, word for word (version 2026-11-02d): “I agree that Save My Well and up to 3 local well pros may call or email me about this. We share my name, phone, email if given, ZIP code, problem, and note with them. We never sell my number to anyone else. The pros may pay Save My Well. I do not have to buy anything.”
We keep help requests in a data store on our own account and email them to our inbox. We cannot pull back details a partner already has, but we will ask the partner to delete them.
What we do not do
We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not sell it, with one exception: a help request you said yes to, on the form or in a reply to our email. Partners may pay us for that request, and some state laws call this a sale.
How long we keep it
Order records stay as long as tax and accounting rules require. Everything else stays only as long as we need it to send your plan, ship your kit, and improve the site. Ask, and we delete what we hold about you.
We keep help requests for up to 400 days, and the email, state, answers and note behind an emailed well record for up to 24 months. The forms listed above keep their data for the time named there. To stop our emails, tap Unsubscribe in any of our list emails. To have your data deleted sooner, ask on the feedback page.
